Dear mrs Gürer, dear members of the CIM, dear Frank van Vree, dear all. I am very pleased to see each of you here at the NIOD where Frank has offered us the hospitality for this reception and our conference. Last night we had a great meeting where several speakers were talking about resistance and terror, a subject we can see as well in this exhibition.
It is the first time that such an exhibition has taken place in the Netherlands and it is also the first time that the CIM (Comité Internationale de Mauthausen) is present here in Amsterdam. So I cannot thank Frank enough for all that he has made possible for Stichting Vriendenkring Mauthausen, because in this way our foundation is being placed in the situation where it should be namely the same position as concentration camp Mauthausen, a place that should never be forgotten.
